Beaches
When your this close to the sea it would be a shame not to visit some of the best beaches in the area. Here are our favourites!
Newborough (Llanddwyn) Beach
Llanddwyn Island is located at the far end of the beach near Newborough Warren. This narrow finger of land is an ideal picnic site during fine weather, but also an exhilarating place when the winter winds blow. Its rolling dunes, large rock outcrops and mixture of historic buildings makes it an ideal place for an afternoon of exploration. A path leads to the nature reserve at Llanddwyn Island and nearby forest has great footpaths.
Whistling Sands
Famously known as ‘Whistling Sands’, a nickname based on the sound the granules make underfoot when you walk over its gleaming sand. The sound is created due to the shear stress of weight that is put upon the sand, there are only two beaches in the whole of Europe where you can experience this for yourselves.
Black Rock Sands
Enjoy a beach day at Black Rock Sands, Porthmadog. An all sand beach that you can drive your vehicle onto (Small fee) and set up for the day.
Tŷ Coch Inn
The Ty Coch Inn is arguably the best pub in Wales and OFFICIALLY in the top ten beach bars in the world... according to a recent survey.
It is situated in the village of Porthdinllaen near Morfa Nefyn, Gwynedd, on the north coast of the Llyn peninsula.
With views across the Irish Sea to The Rivals and a sandy beach on its doorstep what better way to while away the hours?
